Over the last 30 years of my working life, I've amassed a great deal of skills and experience. I've outlined some of my key areas and results below:
Marketing and Communications Qualifications and Experience
I have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in marketing and communications roles over the last 20 years. I have completed a number of qualifications including Diploma of Business Management, Workplace Training and Assessment, Life Coaching, Counselling, and Graphic Design. I have also completed studies in Copywriting, Communications, Media and PR, Social Media, Business Development, Sales and Customer Experience.

I operated my own successful marketing and communications consulting business for over eight years, helping SMEs with strategy, business development and all aspects of marketing and communications. During this time I worked for an agency providing marketing services to Telstra franchisees.
Campaign Management
I have over 20 years’ demonstrated experience in developing and delivering professional and innovative integrated marketing and communication campaigns for small businesses, local government and corporates including Telstra, Credit Union Australia (CUA) and Bank of Queensland (BOQ).
These campaigns have spanned both local area marketing and national to drive growth and revenue - including digital marketing, with proven skills in the delivery of high-quality results-focused multi-channel demand and lead generation strategies within tight deadlines, timeframes and budgets. I am also highly skilled in data management, analysis and have developed reporting systems and templates to communicate in a meaningful way.
Brand
I have held roles in marketing and communications for two large, fast paced financial services organisations and I have developed a high level of knowledge of corporate branding and principles. I have also been through two rebrands with Telstra and CUA, and have also managed two corporate brand and communication style guides. I have experience working closely with brand and design agencies on brand redesigns and campaigns, and have a great deal of experience in providing quality briefs and feedback. I have also been involved in partnership and sponsorship processes and have a great deal of experience in risk management and governance around reputation and brand.
Collateral
I have demonstrated my ability to design and deliver innovative and engaging marketing collateral to connect with and engage audiences to achieve business goals. I have managed national and local campaigns with multiple stakeholders, producing a diverse range of marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, posters, articles, editorials, radio and video scripts, videos, media releases, case studies, reports, newsletters, merchandise and much more.
I have experience producing both both digital and traditional versions, with a focus on the target audience and inspiring action. Having studied Graphic Design and being a highly creative person, I really enjoy designing concepts that connect and engage to build solid customer experiences. Communications - External
I have proven experience in both internal and external communications. In my role as a business consultant working with SMEs I was managing media requests and dealing with media outlets on behalf of my clients. One of those was an agency for Telstra franchises and involved pitching stories across a range of media. I have also completed a couple of media training courses and have written many media releases. I built some great relationships and had my work published.
Communications - Internal
In one of my roles I managed internal communications campaigns for Bank of Queensland (BOQ) Group. This was a fast paced and demanding role which involved a high level of stakeholder engagement and working closely with the CEO Office. Campaigns included strategy and business updates, and events such as National Reconciliation Week, and International Women’s Day, RU OK? Day, and AGMs, Annual Results and Strategy Updates to the market. I managed each campaign plan, overall campaign calendar for the business and was responsible for all aspects including content creation, design, managing multi-channels, third party suppliers, stakeholder management, data and reporting.
Communication Skills
I have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. One of my strengths is my ability to develop rapport and relationships both face to face and in my writing. I’m a confident communicator and I'm comfortable in small and large groups of people. I've completed studies in Workplace Training and Assessment, Media training, Thinking on your feet and have facilitated many client focus groups, training and coaching sessions.

I am confident engaging with stakeholders and senior leaders providing professional strategic advice and guidance on best practice to achieve successful outcomes. I have experience in working closely with senior management up to CEO level on high profile projects. I also have experience in managing high value partnerships and worked closely with community organisations.
Copywriting and Content Creation
I’ve been writing for over 20 years and have a high level of skill and knowledge in best practice communications to connect with audiences and achieve business goals. I have proven ability to transform complex topics into simple narrative to develop effective and engaging communication that inspires action. I have studied copywriting and content creation and have superior writing, editing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
I have written copy for a diverse range of collateral including articles, editorials, blogs, radio and video scripts, print ads, social media posts, message on hold, newsletters, brochures, annual reports and more. I have proven experience in writing SEO content and converting ads across various platforms. I also have a great deal of experience in writing policies, processes and training materials.

I have also developed a range of learning materials and resources including videos, workbooks, and self paced learning modules. I have studied Workplace Training and Assessment, Life Coaching and I'm passionate about personal development and lifelong learning.
Critical Thinking
I have finely honed critical thinking and have a great deal of experience in observation and analysis of situations/issues. I am able to effectively interpret outputs and evaluate with a view to continually improve. I am confident in making decisions and asking for help where required. I thrive on creative thinking and I'm focused on finding solutions, achieving outcomes and absolutely have a ‘can do’ attitude – I always look for the positives.
I am naturally empathetic and able to see things from different perspectives and positively challenge ideas. I am a highly creative, ideas person and thrive on learning new things, with a passion for innovation and new ideas as they relate to a powerful customer experience and business growth.
Customer Experience
I’m highly passionate about creating positive customer experiences with a focus on creating innovative communications and campaigns that engage, inspire and contribute to business goals. I’ve had experience working closely with customer experience teams and have managed projects where we mapped out customer journeys with a view to understand how we can provide better products and services to meet their needs.

I have proven experience in leading client focus and feedback groups, conducting surveys and interviews, writing case studies and collating data for reporting. I am passionate about exceeding expectations and always have the customer experience front of mind in everything I do.
Event Management
I have extensive experience organising successful events for over 20 years. I have managed a diverse range of events from small client groups of 10-12 people to large scale conferences with over 200 people in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. I have proven experience in all aspects of event management including liaising with venues, AV requirements, catering, room set ups, registration and of course, the marketing elements to get people to the event. I absolutely understand each and every detail needed to run a successful event.
Issue
Management
I have demonstrated experience in issue management and have a high level of negotiation and problem solving skills to ensure cooperative and collaborative working, ascertaining needs and tailoring innovative and cost-effective solutions whilst drawing on the strengths of all parties. I’ve worked on many projects with competing priorities and diverse stakeholder groups and understand the importance of clear communication, providing updates, being transparent and authentic in my communication and managing issues as they arise. I have demonstrated experience in using assertive communication to build rapport and persuade others.

I also have a great deal of experience in risk management and governance, business contingency planning and developing policies and processes.
IT Skills
Over the course of my career I have developed skills and experience across a wide range of systems and software. These have included project management, CRM, CMS, time management, financial and marketing software and systems. See the list of systems I have used here.

I love to learn new things, have often taught myself different systems and I am very confident with quickly mastering new software. I’m usually the person to scope out a system and then train everyone else in how to use it. I like to read, research and keep up to date on the latest trends and apps to enhance productivity and work smarter.
People Management
I have proven ability to lead, develop and support team members to achieve business strategy and goals. I thrive on being part of a high performing team and seeing everyone succeed. I have managed small, medium and larger (30 people) teams to drive project delivery and manage change to achieve agreed goals and objectives. I did this for a large IT change project involving over 1,000 team members over multi-sites. I have a lot of experience in recruitment and have formed new teams, as well as taking over an established team.
Project Management
I have proven experience in managing and leading projects to successful completion. This includes stakeholder management, project plans, meetings, and managing budgets, competing priorities and timelines for multiple clients.

In my more recent roles I have further developed my knowledge and experience in project management and delivery in a corporate and local government environment with excellent results. I have proven ability to be agile, manage plans and continual changes, make considered decisions, develop risk assessments, and establish and maintain systems and processes. I am confident taking and fostering accountability, leading teams to drive project delivery and manage change to achieve agreed goals and revenue targets.
Procedures and Policies
Demonstrated experience over 20 years in designing, developing and implementing business policies, procedures and processes for SMEs and corporates. I have led policy strategy discussions, provided though leadership and recommendations and evaluated impact on business. I have been responsible for ongoing management of policies and procedures across a range of functional areas which has included adhering to change management processes, obtaining approvals for changes, publishing documentation and managing document versions. I have also communicated these changes and trained employees on new/updated policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence. I have created detailed procedures including detailed work instructions, screenshots, videos and have tested/evaluated.
Reporting
I have demonstrated ability with lots of experience and a passion for reporting. In all my campaigns and projects, I ensure there is a clear understanding of the data required, a review and comprehensive evaluation with a view to continual improvement. I have developed my own spreadsheets and systems to record data to be able to effectively report on key objectives and outcomes. I have produced many reports to a diverse range of stakeholders. I am passionate about being able to tell the story of impact.
Social Media
I have a great deal of experience in managing social media for business and was an early adopter of it as a marketing tool with my clients in my consultancy business. I have undertaken numerous training courses to better understand the value of social media in building networks and advocates for a brand. I have proven ability to set up content plans and have managed a diverse range of social media accounts for myself and my clients across a range of industries. From the strategy and tactics, sourcing and writing content, posting content, managing the customer experience to paid campaigns - I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in this area. I keep up to date with trends and have also developed and delivered social media training.
Stakeholder Management
One of my strengths is my ability to successfully build and sustain long term positive relationships with key stakeholders. I do this by being approachable and transparent, building rapport and trust, keeping promises and providing regular updates. I am confident in providing professional strategic advice and guidance on best practice to stakeholders – both internal and external – to achieve successful outcomes. I have experience in working with senior management up to CEO level, have managed high profile projects and high value partnerships. I have also worked closely with community organisations and internal and external user groups, industry bodies, committees, programs and working groups.
Time Management
Having my own business for eight years, I developed a superior level of time management skills and I am a master at managing competing deadlines. I have worked in fast paced environments with continually changing requirements. My skills in being able to be agile and pivot absolutely ensure my success to exceed expectations. I understand the changing needs of projects/organisations and have the ability to be flexible and responsive when working within tight and frequently changing timeframes. I am focused on finding solutions and have a proven track record for achieving outcomes despite the challenges and have a ‘can do’ attitude – I always look for the positives and encourage others to do the same.
Training and Development
I have studied Workplace Training and Assessment, Life Coaching and Counselling and I am passionate about learning and development. I have a great deal of experience in developing training and facilitating groups in person and online. I’ve had excellent feedback from participants and really enjoy seeing them succeed.

I have proven experience in developing information resources in multiple formats across various media modalities with sensitivity to the needs of the audience. I have a great deal of experience in creating and updating websites. I have also previously supported in the development of a national professional development network. I have also developed and delivered webinars, leadership modules and in-person and online events.
